This question is being asked over and over everyday, i should just place a video and link to it on how to setup and fix on how to place your Apple TV 2 on DFU mode..

I had a problem i updated in Itunes then tried season pass without starting atv2 on tv it just wouldnt go in, u have to sort the settings on tv out 1st

I had to do the powercord trick to put my ATV into DFU mode,

1. plug in the USB

2. Plug in the power cable.

3. Hold menu + play/pause button ofr 7-10 seconds (was using iReb)

restore to new custom firmware

@thatdecade just connect the power cord and then hold power+down then when it starts to flicker fast real ease and then rite away hold menu and play

Previously jailbroken, mine only slow blinks when connected to usb. Can't reach DFU mode.

@koolenboer if you're on a PC.. most likely you are.. try plugging in your apple tv along with your microUSB.. that solved it for me.. good luck.
