This is the best school. You get weekly tasks and assignments; you can do them all by Wednesday and have the rest of the week off. It's year-round, so you can get 60 credits per year ( at full-time ). I'm in the Game Software Development major and finishing up in about a year and a half more. To apply you need to create an account at: https://home.westwood.edu/oac/

  • So what if you're in the middle of testing level 3, when someone comes in and says to you, "Hey guys, are you almost done? I have another game I need designed." Do you tell the person you need to tighten up the graphics?

  • i c u r joking, but I'm still a STUDENT. I haven't had any1 hire me 4 a job yet. Besides, developers don't even do the TESTING. In the video, students are just enjoying the fruits of their labor. It's an AD that I had no part in making.

  • is this school mainly for game engine development?? thats what it seems like everyone goes here for. is it good for a business administration degree?

  • Yes, the have an MBA program. Remember, I'm JUST a student of the college.

  • If only this was true

  • What do you mean?

I go to WOL and I love it. I'm currently taking a NINE-credit course (SG210 - Fundamentals of Game Engine Development) and learning how to create a user-interactive graphical application. I think you're just SCARED!

  • Ok, let's be realistic, I want to make games, too. But, I can't be a good level designer without great human-interaction and humanities skills. And, for programming, especially, it would mean nothing to me if I didn't gain real work experience, with a company, or didn't understand computer logic. Really, these schools are for people who never had knowledge in their desired field, previously. I take AP JAVA and learning c#, this won't do for me. I need challenges, not fabrications.

  • Front Line (PBS) College Inc. March 6. 9pm

  • online courses. many westwood online students try to justify attending a complete fucking joke of a school by saying that the quality of work you do takes precedence over what school you went to when it comes time to look for a job. well then if that is the case you could just go to community college and teach yourself more and better than westwood and save yourself a fortune in student loans. the only redeeming quality of WOL imo was the student club and there are plenty of other clubs out ther

  • so what school are you attending now? and were you talking courses online only?

  • like any other education, you get out what you put in. but is it really worth $50-70,000? sorry, my answer has to be no.

    -former student

  • I go to WOL to and am in my final 3 or 4 terms and study Game Art & Design. I have had a pretty great experience, and yes it absolutely depends on the student. I have worked very hard and as a result, it shows. I might be getting a job at a 3d animation company in South Korea.

If someone turns you down solely because what you think isn't a good school, then they aren't doing their job in the first place. They are looking for talent. Work hard and you'll get that talent.
