Mr Windeler, please don't label Jack as "mentally ill". I'm quite sure he would not like being called that. From what I know and have read about his case, he was the brightest/smartest one in the family. I'm sorry you lost him. I wish he could have found some non-governmental resources on the Internet that could have helped him

Instead of raising $ for "mental illness" directed at youth, perhaps the REAL solution should be to CLOSE down all the public, private, pre-school, elementary, and high schools. This would bring so much joy to the kids ...The kids can learn much more on their own and from their parents via homeschooling and the Internet... All they need to learn is the basics of how to read and write...then send them on their own to learn what they want to - about Space, about Physics, about how to repair a Car.

we have had 190 suicides in brantford this year alone. i think its the 2nd highest in canada. we have an anuual suicide prevention awareness funraiser. this year we raised 15,000. i ha ve a gf whos 19 yr old son hanged himself 3 yrs back. it def has hit home for me. eric i concur we need ot raise awareness of mental health issues.
