His three volume biography of Trotsky is brilliant. I have spent months looking for the hardback 1st editions and finally found them all in NY. Read them if you have the slightiest of cares about the Russian Revolution and Trotsky. His book is a biography of Trotsky, but also a survey of the Revolution, Stalinsm, and many more other topics.

@bfoaliali Thanks for your comments! I prefer biographies that deal with the big picture surrounding their subjects, so it sounds like I'll really enjoy these. Congratulations on your first editions -- that's really something.
