Say what you will about Sonic Heroes, but I will always stand by its level thematics as the best combination of the classic and modern styles in any Sonic game to date, and this stage (apart from one section in the next stage I'll be doing) has some of the best visuals in the game. Now, as a kid, Sonic Adventure 2's haunted themes scared me more, if only because they were far more in-your-face-by-the-way-this-is-a-ghost-level than Hang Castle Zone's stages. Looking back, though, the spider inscriptions, random eye patterns, hieroglyphs, the faces on all the pillars, the Eggman statue, the skull in the moon, and those scythes (OH GOD, THOSE SCYTHES), are some of the creepiest aesthetics I've ever seen in a kid's game. Lo and behold, it's far more child-friendly and yet still more atmospheric than Shadow the Hedgehog's ghost stage or half the survival horror games out there (then again, that's coming from the guy who likes creepy scary movies over shock-value horror flicks).
Back to the topic at hand, however, this is the first stage of the game I'll be doing that is (to the best of my knowledge) impossible to complete as Sonic alone. So, I'll be counting for you each time I use another character.

Easy-fill the Team Blast Gauge:
Starting with Hang Castle, there are certain aspects of the level that can only be passed with a Team Blast (defeating certain enemies, breaking down cracked walls, etc), and you're going to need to build that bar up quickly and often. There are a couple ways to do this. Tails' Thunder Shoot is the fastest and easiest way, but we don't really have that as an option here. So, we go to the alternatives:
1) The Slide Kick: Tap B. Smallest energy refill, but can be used in rapid succession (especially when backed into certain corners). Unwieldy, and can't finish off the Gauge.
2) Rocket Accel: Hold B. Biggest payoff, but horrible rate in consideration of charge-up time. Somewhat unwieldy.
3) Blue Tornado: Jump and B. Small payoff, but great for when in precarious platforming sections.
Use all three of these with discretion based on the situation at hand, or just copy me here. Basically the same idea either way.
