The players that began the 1996-97 season as Devils(cause a good bit wouldn't be there at the end) as introduced by the great Bob Arsena

Also it was funny seeing Mike Peluso wearing a CCM helmet instead of the super round JOFA helmet he did previously!

  • @MrBarelylethal

you wear a visor to deflect your priests jism.....geek......lol

  • look at the lact of visors weird!

  • the stars won with the style too in 1999

  • Oh hells no, I've been following hockey since 84'. I wouldn't really call myself a bandwagoneer. I actually pulled for the Devils in 1987-88 when BURKE was a rookie goalie and SCHOENFELD was the coach (with 'EAT A WHOLE DONUT, YOU FAT PIG' to the ref during the playoffs.) However everytime the NHL is doing great in its sport, like 1994 and 2004 they have to screw it up with a lockout or canceled season right after that, that's called B.S. and Greed on all ends.

  • If all you are worried about is marketing the sport, than you are most likely a bandwagon fan.

  • Scoring does not always = winning. 100 points a season or not, the Devils still won the cup. Not to mention EVERYONE in 00-01 called the Devils 'same old boring' yet they scored the most goals all year. I guess all those other teams were playing the trap.

Fact is, most teams play the trap or a version of it, especially if they are up. Even the Pens do. It is a defensive strategy, that works. No way to get around it.

  • That style is a really good way to market the sport.

  • At least the canadiens a.k.a. THE HABS had a downtown to celebrate and at least they had some players who could score a 100 pts in a season. Im not jealous, they deserved their cups fair and square, it's just a horrible era/trend. In all honesty I think Gary Bettman is the antichrist of hockey.

  • At least we got to celebrate! As a fan, I would rather celebrate in a parking lot than lose. The fact is jealousy. Winning can do that to many other fans. Of course you didn't mention the '76 to 79' canadians...why? Why could that be hmm... hint: winning Lord Stanley? Get off your high horse and open your eyes already fool.

  • That style of Hockey brought the Devils championships, division titled and were considered cup contenders throughout the late 90s and early 2000's until the departure of Stevens and Daneyko. Then, teams around the NHL attempted to emulate that style. Don't blame the Devils for other teams failed attempt to learn their style...
