So... If Google are evil and simply force their products on others while abusing their system, why do they have so many products that have failed miserably?

Google X, Google Wave, Google Buzz, Google Notebook, Greader, Google catalog, Google answers, Jaiku, Dodgeball.... The list goes on and on.

If google wanted they could very well do what this video is suggesting they do, but clearly they didn't for ANY of these, they wouldn't have failed otherwise.

There's more to it than this video shows

Bias edited clips of a hearing conducted by a man that clearly has no clue of what is being told to him as shown by him completely ignoring everything he has been told in his summary.

If there's still competitor links in the query results and Google's are just at the top in many cases then there's still competition. If the user is so lazy to scroll down for the right answer then that's their problem, not Google's. Can you find the holes in Eric's statements? Sure, but rarely do I not find what I'm looking for on Google and that is the key goal to have operating with as much data as they must deal with. My consistent experience is what makes Google the leader in its field.
