@tekNiqueAU : I haven't studied it in detail, but it's something like this: A wind gust or a swash plate movement makes the upper rotor head hit the limits of its movement. The upper rotor blades then swivel and bang into the blades of the lower rotor causing damage to one or several blades and loss of control. To avoid it, be very gentle with the swash plate and don't fly when there's any wind at all.

Truly, a tragedy of epic proportions. :-# Thanks for sharing your pain. :-( Wish they made flying UFOs. But they tend to break up into aluminum foil & balloon parts when they crash, and I hear the cost of the dead alien dolls for the wreckage debris field is astronomical. ;-)

What excatly is a blade strike?
-
you should invest in a non coaxial heli, something like a honeybee v2 as those are under £100 with everything included, and will teach you more about rc helis that any coaxial could, coaxials should only be flown indoors, its too unstable outdoors due to slow headspeed and wont correct its self if blown around in even mild wind, no wind is best, but keep those for indoors only

Blade strike. Any tiny breeze will amplify the flaw inherent with co-axials. I fitted the turbo shaft on mine. This together with extreme blades meant that in the unusual case of a blade strike, the blades would not break and i could at least brin the heli down without the normal drama. Great music 4 the vid.
IN YOUR FACE ! HAHAHA !!!

@exbds Yep, the damage was right there in front of me... right in my face. Your post has bought the shame flooding back after two years. I could not look in the mirror this morning.
