how to make frozen hot chocolate

Whitney: Hi everybody. I'm Whitney Magness. I am the Housewares Buyer for Zappos.com, and today we're going to make frozen hot chocolate. Okay. So, the ingredients that you need to make frozen hot chocolate are: 3 ounces of chocolate. You can use semisweet, sweet chocolate chips. 2 teaspoons of hot chocolate mix, 1 1/2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 1/2 cups of milk, 3 cups of ice, whipped cream for garnish, and chocolate shavings for garnish. First thing you want to do is take your 3 ounces of chocolate and melt them. We actually just put them in the microwave and melted them ourselves. Do that--once you get it nice and melted you want to dump your 2 teaspoons of hot chocolate mix and 1/2 tablespoons of sugar into your chocolate. Mix it together. [Music] Make sure everything is dissolved together so you get a great mixture. Once you've done that, you're going to add 1/2 cup of milk and stir until it's smooth. [Music] Once you have everything mixed all together, you're going to take your blender--in this case we're using our Breville blender. And you're going to place the remaining 1 cup of milk inside the blender. [Music] You're going to add your chocolate mixture. And then you're going to add 3 cups of ice. [Music] Okay. And then you put your lid on, make sure everything's tight. You turn it on first. And then you have 5 different options. So we're going to actually do the smoothie function and make it into a smoothie. [Noises from blender making the smoothie] All right! So, there is your frozen hot chocolate. And I like to top it off with whipped cream. [Music] There we go! Frozen hot chocolate. [Music]
