My small tribute to the man who made MMA and BJJ what they are today.
Hélio Gracie (October 1, 1913 January 29, 2009) was regarded as the creator of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, also known as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). Until his death, Gracie was the only living 10th degree master of the discipline and is widely considered as one of the first sports heroes in Brazilian history; he was named Black Belt Magazine's Man of the Year in 1997. He was the father of the world-renowned fighters Rickson Gracie, Royler Gracie, Royce Gracie, Relson Gracie and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) founder Rorion Gracie. Gracie was also a 6th dan in judo.

@Chris2O09 I hope not. He would have liked it if they revolutionized martial arts, but without completely forgetting traditions, like he did. (IMHO)

Shame he couldn't live forever physically. The martial arts world lost a lot of knowledge that may take centuries to be replaced.

well if we forget about the purity of real MMA we will lose knowledge, but for now we still have schools waving the flag of fighing. I really wished he'd've lived at least till 100 just to rub it into those tai chi and yoga bastards.
