He is so special in technics and emotion!
I own a vinyl shop and I got records most of Chopin virtuoso like Argerich, Zimmerman, Rubinstein, Kissin etc and Thai Son. I like them all for different reasons, but I say Thai Son expression is very unique. He could make me cry in some passage, and make me strong in others
I prefer Ivo playing Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninof more than Chopin

Previous comments epxlained clearly. Martha left the room not because of Thai Son, she likes him

props to the audience's effort for holding their coughs

lovely, very polished, very detailed and musical, but no match for pogorelic. This lad is a very good pianist, but the distinction here is in purely natural genius, which he simply just does not have. Tonal colour and gradation is instinctive creation, no composer can give any terms to describe that particular aspect of playing. Argerich could not believe her ears and resigned from the jury in this year when Pogorelic was dropped. She was right

@ilovevietnamful that's why that pain you quote makes better

he's the most excellent pianist in the world for me. his parents and some members in his family were dead because of bombs in 1972 when american people conquering vietnam. And after passing this bad pain, he became the first asian people to won chopin competition in 1980
