On Saturday over 1,000 people gathered at Pilsen's Zocalo to enjoy the first edition of The Resurrection Project's art and music festival: Unisono. Unisono is a celebration of our pan-latin cultural roots, offering music lovers a diverse mix of genres such as salsa, cumbia, ranchera, latin rock and funk in one action-packed day.
The event kicked off at 1:00pm with the folkloric tunes of Pilsen's own Fandanguero. All the local bands from Roots Rockers to Los Vicios de Papa brought their best repertoires, excitedly setting the pace for the headlining act, the Austin Texas band Grupo Fantasma. Missed out? Would you like to be there again? Stay tuned for the next Unisono, and for now, check out our video recap.
2011 Unisono was brought to you by The Resurrection Project, in partnership with The National Museum of Mexican Art, PilsenPortal.org and the Pilsen Planning Committee.
