This structure based on the changes of all the things you are is a masterful vision that takes years to conceive. If you know the changes to "All the things you are" thoroughly you will understand this presentation. It took me 15 years to figure this out, how about you? This is not rambling nonsense. This is controlled , structured, precise freedom with control. I asked Mingus about this when I met him in Bosnia in 1975 in a hotel lobby. I told him I thought he orchestrated a jazz quartet.

It's true, jazz is an art form; pop is superficial.

Dolphy is beyond the moon....as usual. Loved this when I was 12. It's even better now. So sad what has happened to real jazz...it has faded into pop.

How can a song titled "All The Things You Could Be By Now If Sigmund Freud's Wife Was Your Mother" be better than something like "Niggaz in paris"?

    Mind&#* that's how.

This music changed my life and made me a dedicated musician. I told Mingus that, in person.
