This is my uncles baby right here, he worked on them in vietnam. He has 2 patents on the plane and has inspired me to become an aircraft mechanic. Unfortunately I cannot enlist to learn how =(

@Jdogdrums7 and F-22 is undefeated against F-15 and F-16's in exercises so what does that tell you about the investment.

for those who say the F-22 is better...it may have better performance but the cost per plane is 150 million. each F-15 is 28-30 mil. i would rather have 5 F-15's soaring through the sky than a single "state of the art" superfighter.

The F-15 Eats MIG for breakfast oh sorry Starter the main course is Sukhoi. The F-15 is an awesome aircraft been my favorite since i was a little kid. In my heart its still the best until the F-22 beats her record. Please remember the F15 design is about 37 years old. First flight = 1972.
Based upon combat record, it is the best. You cannot argue against 100+ air to air kills for 0 air to air losses. No other plane has this record.
Based upon statistics, speculation, and capabilities on paper, certainly there are "better" fighters. But numbers on paper don't always turn out very well in real life.
