Flying Colors is Mike Portnoy (drums, vocals), Dave LaRue (bass), Neal Morse (keyboards, vocals), Casey McPherson (lead vocals, guitar), and Steve Morse (guitar). "This album has bits and pieces of what you'd expect from each of us," says Portnoy. "The sum of all its parts led to brand new, unchartered territory for everyone involved."

The formation of Flying Colors began with a simple idea: virtuoso musicians and a pop singer joining together to make new-fashioned music the old fashioned way. Refreshing, classic, old and new, the recordings are saturated with the many styles, tones and hues of the players who in becoming a band have delivered a unique fusion of vintage craftsmanship and contemporary music.

  • thumbs up if Kayla's chorus will kick ass.

  • Man, Mike Portnoy isnt just a drummer but an artist. We get to see him have one hell of a career in DT. Be this "religious lighter guy" in Transatlantic. Be the " cool nu metal" drummer in A7X. And go old school with A Mob. And now were seeing him in FC. :))) I really hope MP's next project is a collab album with Mikael Akelferdt

  • @irwin3036able no matter what project, he always plays the same stuff with the same bland feel... honestly, he's not that special... and allegedly a selfish primadonna...

just listen to them sucking each others cocks..

  • Great Coverartwork! Btw I love Mike's Zappa-hat...

  • So your telling me, that a day before the Adren. Mob CD release, I could get to meet MIKE PORTNOY AND THE BAND... then the next day get his CD, then the following week or 2, get the new FC CD? How could March get any better?!?!?! THANK YOU MP!!!

  • Portnoy looks young a little

  • Like I love Transatlantic, I'm seriously looking forward to this release. Sounds awesome to me

  • Unless I'm mistaken, this is Mike Portnoy's first real "Rock & Roll" project. It's not too complex, and it's not a cover band.

  • @projectgoatse Yes, you're correct. They were major coke heads. Portnoy would do coke with them too, even though he obviously wasn't a member.

  • 9 people are either beiber fans or Mike Portnoy haters....

  • @bleedingicon You mad bro? Research the history of Spock's - or I can give you the short version. They were hardcore party people on the road and did pretty much every drink and drug in the book - if you're trying to improve your life / stop being a child, it becomes infinitely harder to do so when you surround yourself with the wrong people. For Neal, I am sure it was a lifestyle choice just as much as a spiritual one.

  • Love Neal, love Mike, so I'm trusting this will be a great project. The little we have heard of the song Kayla sounds fabulous. Can't wait to give this a spin!

  • oh my god ! peter collins the old producer of rush! the best progressive album of the year!

  • Great Band and fantastic album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it's like the seven dragonballs completed and our wish of awesome music has been granted!!! :D

  • I love it best when Mike is playing this kind of music (other than DT). I love his collaborations with Neal, and like Transatlantic, I'm sure this will be pretty kick ass. I'm looking forward to it!!

  • neal morse ....genius

  • It's kind of amazing to see one of my inspirations (Mike Portnoy) wearing a shirt that has my last name "Stockton" on it. It just reassures me about my calling with music.

  • This sounds great, and the cover of the album looks awesome.

  • I love music....from allll spectrums... and this is what I've been waiting for....yes!

  • @acrovader Look for Angelfire Steve Morse here in youtube

  • This is gonna be so much better then Adrenaline Mob, Im a big fan of Allen Russel and Mike Portnoy, but i think Adrenaline Mob is to mainstreamish for me. This sounds epic, the singer has abit of a Muse sound to me, I will totally buy this album!

  • Steve Morse "IS" the Greatest Guitar Player in the world!

  • Just pre-ordered my t-shirt, CD, and poster combo. Not a fan of Adrenaline Mob, but Flying Colors looks like it's going to be amazing.

  • @OnlyUnusedUsername What's the name of the song?

  • @danielmj85 Hey, you never know…

  • 4:23 Looks like we have an incoming masterpiece
