Why do they insist that there is a "special" Wagnerian technique of singing!? They themselves said that Wagner wanted "belcanto"!. It only takes a good singer to sing ANY opera by ANY composer, Spoken or sung... si canta come si parla.
I never heard a short-breathed Puccini, Verdi or Bellini singer survive any opera at all.
Wagner covered the big orchestra in his theatre.
Thank god Maestro Otvos knows it, according to his statements from 30:00 on.
