'It was twenty years ago today...' BOB DOWNE (the comic creation of Mark Trevorrow) made his second appearance on LATE NIGHT OZ, 17 May 1988, at the old TEN 10 studio in North Ryde, Sydney. The show is hosted by DON LANE - the very man Mark based the character on; hence Bob's cod American accent (which faded involuntarily sometime during 1995)! Bob sings SUSPICION with a fine studio band led by Jamie Rigg. In the chat that follows, Bob's 'mum', Mrs Ida Downe (JANE MARKEY) makes her first ever appearance - by phone - 'from' Murwillumbah.
