  • @Senmetsu The problem is not that they do not work for me, but that they never work when used on me.

I think that attempting a grab like this is never a good idea against a more skilled opponent. For instance, a good grab must be made only when you are sure it will put you at an advantage. To actually win fights using grabs and counters requires skill. I think these moves would be much more effective if a few punches, kicks, or knees where thrown into the mix.

  • @narutowned I disagree. I've seen some of moves work. Not all, but some. A good throw renders an opponent incapable of attacking by throwing them off balance. If the throw is executed properly, the opponent won't be able to launch an attack in time. When my arm is grabbed, I also attempt to strike with another limb, that's why you don't just block, you attack at the same time like these videos say. If these throws haven't worked for you, then they are either being done wrong or too slowly.

  • @Senmetsu From my personal experience in street fights these grabs don't work. When someone grabs my arm, I ignore my arm and attack them while they are open. Serious fights get bloody fast. People who try and grab me personally usually get a knee to the rib (I have Juijitsu and Karate training). Even before I was trained, I would ignore my arm and punch their throat or ribs. A good grab is a very quick counter/surprise attack that leaves no chance for the target to escape.

  • @narutowned An effective move doesn't have to do any damage at all. It just has to put the fight on your terms, so that you are in control. As for movement, we aren't talking about a Kung Fu movie, we're talking about normal people on the street. As for them being easy to see coming, I'm sure they are if you're watching an instructional video. I don't think anybody who didn't already know these moves by heart could predict them precisely enough to do anything in time.

  • @Senmetsu Well, many of these simple moves seem ridiculous. I mean, an effective move does a high ammount of damage with minimum movement. Some of these moves are easy to see coming and require a large amount of movement that can be stopped.

  • @ZePivotMaster If you know better, make your own channel, you negative dick.
