Just installed this light bar yesterday and it looks super sharp, easy to use control box with indicator. The take-downs and alleys do have separate flashing/steady modes and the traffic advisor has left/right functions, too, of course. I made the mounting set-up from scrap 1/4" steel and just sandwiched it to the headache rack, ran the cable through the cab's vent hole between it & the bed....no way was I going to drill through the body. Have yet to make a call since the installation so I can't report on its traffic-moving ability yet. Already had several compliments though so I suspect it'll do pretty well.

  • shoulda got the 55"

  • @thatotherguy186 My goal was to keep it between the uprights of the headache rack and the 47" was a perfect fit. Only change I would make if I did it over again would be to get the linear light heads instead. Thanks for the input.

  • Where did you get the headache rack and how much did it cost?

  • @rckr993 On craigslist locally

  • Oh, one more thing....it's been slow here in our department lately. We've only had one call since I bought this and I was at a business dinner so I missed it! More updates to follow, stay tuned....

  • Update: I have had to replace 3 lightheads and now am in need to replace a fourth. It came to me with two of them not functioning so I called them and they were quick to send me replacements. However, within about a week another went out and now this last one. I do want to stress that STL has been good about sending replacements but I'm wondering: are they all going to need to be replaced eventually? We shall see....glad for the 3 yr warranty.

  • @tmartino55 I must say I was very pleasantly surprised at its daytime performance which is why I did the video at that time. I will admit that two of the light heads were out when I received it, however the shipping box was damaged when I got it so maybe FedEx had a hand in that LOL Whether they did or not is immaterial since STL was on the ball about sending me replacements RIGHT AWAY. If, anything occurs out of the ordinary with it, I'll put it here, but I have a feeling I won't be.

  • I was shopping around trying to outfit another car and have found allot of bad reviews, mostly from exterior uses after about 2 years. allot of shit-talk though, I think these guys are just pissed they got ripped off paying 3 times the money for lights, I mean these things are no whelens or fedsig or any other top brand... that's why they are cheap, but they get the job done and the failures are not that unreasonable, I like mine, and yours look great in the day, that's the biggest thing.
