These were some of the games I managed to capture on my camera during the 1st Asia Pacific Capoeira Competition 2008 and some of the other rodas. This is my first attempt at making a video :)

These are not real fights. they are rehearsed dances. does anyone know where to see real capoeira fight videos??

I assure you not one of these were rehearsed. I know cos this is my group. This is a "roda de capoeira" if that is what you mean. Capoeira is never "rehearsed" unless it is for a performance.

I'm not sure what u mean by "real fight videos". If you are looking for something in a ring/cage like mma, look for grupo axe capoeira.

But if you are looking for a violent street fight where people beating/bashing up each other to a bloody pulp, then I think you have to go to Brazil?!? In Australia it would not be tolerated. All you need is 1 person to sue your group/mestre and the business is finished!

The intention here is to drop the opponent on the ground with skill. Of course once in a while people get hurt. But the intention is not to bash them up.

does anything have a real application in the real world?

People train in MMA (as well as other forms of martial art) because they enjoy it. Not many people train MMA for sole purpose of severely injuring someone intentionally.

yeah, i live in a - place - called earth. you will need to get attacked, robbed, beaten and threatened to be shot at by a criminal before you will understand the importance of a owning a weapon. criminals don't care about you. dead men tell no tales.

Sad to hear you live in a place where you have to carry a weapon to defend yourself.

scary to think that you need more than one round to stop your attacker. good luck with that if that ever happens to you.

by the way a belly shot from a pistol is not garenteed to stop or even kill an attacker I would recomend shooting centre of seen mass or the chest. of course I live in far north queensland and everybody here owns a shotgun so a revolver is not as big a deal as it should be
