Its such a shame John Lydon is dead. I used to rate his usual style of singing & as a dresser & performer. Pistols were smart & Pil 78-82 were even better & ahead of the game but when Levine left , He got smug & yes maybe Rise & those Mid 90's Pistols shows were good,but can anyone tell me what he has done of any serious quality since 1986??? He's fat ,arrogant,forgets his words at gigs, dress shit, lost the once amazing "Rotten" vocal for this Larry the Lamb wine. Reality shows & Butter ads??

@H4rryF If we are going to get into Lydon quotes "I don't have any heroes there all useless". Julian Cope has been fairly consistent and Bowies quota has been very good musically but 1986 to 2011 is a very long time and John has not delivered. I want to be proved wrong. I understand PiL are making an album now & lets hope it can be as good as Commercial Zone/Metal Box etc The very point of Lydons personality was to question the audience to challenge them make them not accept any old thing

Listen mate I have followed John Lydon s career since Dec 1976 (LWT show Janet Street Porter I was 9) & when I was old enough 12 (stopped playing with toys got pocket money etc) I bought Pistols/Pil records back catalogue during 1979 & you are right he is still a very interesting person but from 1986 musically there has been nothing

Blah blah blah. Up to that point he'd been producing music, lyrics and gigs of a very high standard for 11(eleven) years. How many artists can you name have done that AND done it while being hassled by the police in their own home and attacked in the street by "monarchists"
