Man this girl album should have been way bigger than what it was. Its too bad some folks dont appreciate this girls music and VOCAL talent alone. This girls album was off the hook...yet her music AND voice is 10x's better than Keri Hilson, Ciara, Rihanna and Beyonce but dont sell many records as they do...something aint right about that. I'm not downing those artist but its a shame how this generation cant see talent like some old heads like us see. *im a 80's child* so I KNOW good SANGIN!

they give so much credit to the white artists that sound like black girls but the real sould singers get overlooked because it's nothing spectacular when a black girl sounds soulful...to them it's a big deal when a white girl sounds soulful

@Blakmajik78 Unfortunately, the "industry" is more about image than talent. Jazmine used to be a lot chunkier, but she's lost weight in recent years, but still isn't where she should be career-wise. Franky, I think she is one of the top 3 (or at least top 5) vocal talents working today. However, I don't think her album and its songs did her voice justice. She has yet to find her musical niche, in my opinion. Someone needs to write songs for her that accentuate that magnificent voice.

@Blakmajik78 i wouldnt say her voice is better than beyonce's but i would say her album was successful, SHE WENT GOLD. Do u have ANY idea how difficulty i9t is to do that with this high amount of piracy. She did well AND got her nomination cause she had good rotation and people like us who appreciate her talent. People like melanie fiona whose albums didnt even get certified are the ones whose albums werent a success

This is true soul. I agree with black magic. I can't stand when white singers try and take our glory instead of just being genuine with their own voices. I cringe at people like Robyn Thick and that british chick. They are not original at all...Jasmine represents our beautiful black culture and music. She represents our ancestors voices and our church roots. No matter what, no one can take that from our poeple.
