Well surprisingly even thought I make and sell slings there are a few out there I wouldn't mind trying out. I can not reamber the names or who makes them. But there are some pretty intriguing sling systems out there now a days.

why on earth did you attach the sling to the front site?

I do not have a Side mounted sling mount on that rifle but was showing that you could mount it thought the front sight if you do not have a side mounted sling mount.
