In Shasta County, CA retired "judge Jack Halpin was "assigned" a temporary judge "to save tax payers money." Theory sounds good. Hire a retired judge, save an election & training process, save tax-payers even MORE money by not including any OVERSIGHT or ACCOUNTABILITY measures, right? In CA an "assigned judge" serves for 30-60 days, so no need to have any oversight. Jack Halpin: At $12,000-bucks a month has been milking the assigned judges prgm for over 18 YEARS! Abducting kids including mine...

I think the judge had to be objective and she didnt have much to work with. I think part of the problem was that her lawyer did not get third party evidence to say the child had been abused. Her lawyer should have suggested that the child see a psychologist or making a police report. At least get the child to speak to a police officer. This would at least have something for the judge to work with.

I know judges have to adhere to the law but what law is it that a child is given to a pedophile? If I was the mother there would be a law..This video led to other videos on Dateline.crime in which pedophiles are caught.I wish it could have been in existence when I was a child.Maybe I would have been saved.On Dateline.crime they said that pedophiles commit suicide rather than go to jail.I can't feel sorry that they killed themselves,all I can think of is that another innocent child was saved.

I vote Judge Jeniffer Elliott to go to jail for intentionally cause severe physical and psychological damage to the mom and the child. IT IS CRIMINAL to cause the damage, especially the child.

@irishwing1 The judge should be in Jail. I would not be surprised if she ordered the sheriff to put herself in same cell with that pedophile so that she can get some if that pedophile like her.

@Spark916916 She was re-elected to continue earning about $150000 tax payer's money, with higher satisfied rate than most of judge in the court and recently selected to drug court. Legal system, including the court, is a powerful but not justice system.
