My brother went to Simeon with Ben and my bro was a sophomore at the time. I was 4 years old in 1984 and I remember my brother came home crying and telling our parents that Ben was shot and killed outside a convenient store by some piece of shit thugs. My brother even said Ben had so much potential to be a NBA legend and would have been inducted into NBA Hall of Fame by now had he lived. Always the good die too young.

Im from the South Bronx & When Ben Wilson was Killed,it reached the Sunday Daily News. I was 13 years old & My Bro 9. The story touched us so Much...tht til this day our "catch phrase" for when anything is important & it has 2 b emphasized is "WORD 2 BEN".When we say tht,it has meaning,truth,etc. Just wanted 2 share tht.

@nowatout I still think about this a lot. I remember this like it was yesterday. The city came to a stand still when this happened. It was such a senseless killing. All Ben did was bump into the guy from what I heard and even said excuse me to him, and the punk just shoots him down like a dog. I hate thugs to this day, no sympathy for criminals, you can execute them all as far as I'm concerned because all they do is execute innocent people.
