This 8 minute film was directed by Nigel Playford for broadcast on Chinese TV in the run-up to the 2008 Olympics in Qingdao. The film is in English, with Chinese sub-titles available. There is also some chinese spoken in the film.

  • Interesting race starts! Quite helpful for the beginners.

  • I think Salcombe will be a destination to avoid me for dinghy cruising! So overcrowded.

  • what are you on about yawl 166 was over the line? He didn't get disqualified so he can't of been, i would know as he is my dad, it takes 2 seconds for the klaxon to reach the other side.

  • great vid, i remember watching you film this, i will be joining the National fleet next regatta. i feel very sorry for that guy who was taken out by the motor boat! sailing at salcombe is normally tough enough!
