Nigel Playford, plus sailing instructors Hannah and William and one of his chinese friends show you how to prepare a sailing dinghy for racing. The film includes two interesting race starts. The film assumes you are a beginner. The races are in Salcombe in England, in National 12s, Yawls and Lasers. This 8 minute film was directed by Nigel Playford for broadcast on Chinese TV in the run-up to the 2008 Olympics in Qingdao. The film is in English, with Chinese sub-titles available. There is also some chinese spoken in the film.

what are you on about yawl 166 was over the line? He didn't get disqualified so he can't of been, i would know as he is my dad, it takes 2 seconds for the klaxon to reach the other side.

great vid, i remember watching you film this, i will be joining the National fleet next regatta. i feel very sorry for that guy who was taken out by the motor boat! sailing at salcombe is normally tough enough!
