Dr. Robert Goodland, former environmental advisor to the World Bank for 23 years, has long been known as 'the conscience of the World Bank' for his ongoing and strident efforts to wean the influential organisation off its commonly destructive practices naively wrought in the name of well meaning economic deeds.
Now, he entertains and enlightens an audience in Gwangju, South Korea, to their own tradition of vegan and vegetarian cooking, listing off wonderful meals which avoid use of meat, and thereby do not lead to livestock farting destructive methane, the green house gas which is 21% more destructive than carbon dioxide!
For more information, google his surprising 2009 study 'Livestock and Climate Change' which shows how the meat industry contributes not just 18% of total green house gases to climate change, but actually more than 51% is more likely.
