  • A trick I learned as a composite boat builder was to always lay a piece of mylar packing tape offset about a quarter inch on either side of any seam or joint that was getting a fillet. Apply the epoxy, use the spreader to shape the fillet, and then pull the tape. It leaves a nice, neat edge on each side of the fillet.

  • I love the plastic bag trick, I will definitly try it as I am also using EZ-fillet. I am presently waiting for consistant warm weather to glass my boat here in South Dakota. I have 18 gal. of System 3 Silvertip resin in my closet, and 30 yds of bi-axial cloth in the shop. Come on Summer.
