  • Last summer I was receiving Russian taxis on 10M here in the UK. I do believe they're just using converted CB rigs, because they can't be bothered with anything better.

  • There is no need to modify CB transceivers.

RIG's that goes to Russia from Italy (for example) is already allow to TX/RX from 25 till 30 mhz.

Also these transceivers is certified in Russia.

Main fault is in governvent, as usual....

  • Do not worry about TheKindWizard and TheRadiolubitel; I was reading what you were saying in Russian by paralink translator online; I can hear them here in South America sometimes. It happens that they have got a 240-channel CB transceiver such as Cobra 148GTL-DX, Megastar 3900, Galaxy Pluto, Alan 87, etc, that can be purchased easily. We have got the same problem with Brazilian CB operators and lorry drivers. They get their equipments from my country in a city called Ciudad del este.

  • This problem is around the world; here in South America, Brazilian CB operators work from 28000 upto 28350 because they get 240-channel CB radiotransceivers from Ciudad del Este such as Megastar 3900 and others. Another problem we have in south America is about Brazilian lorry drivers; they are all on 24 Mhz; band that belongs to ham-radio operators.

  • Seems like he might be using a modified CB radio

  • In México city, we have the same problem.
