Please go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fe_eJ60PmtM for how this instrument really sounds. Here's the end of the Karg-Elert Nun Danket played by a visiting organist on the organ at Hammerwood Park. Unfortunately the camera microphone just can't cope with full organ, especially the 64ft/128ft pedal notes. Sounds brilliat in real life. Come and play it!

  • Look up "St Maximin organ can't cope" to hear what recording quality does to the best of organs and look up "Hugh Potton Reubke" and please comment appropriately there.

  • чашка не к месту! Ни чего этичного не осталось! (или я не так понял)

Ну, хотя бы убрали бы чашку, когда снимали...

  • @xlarve2010 The organ at Hammerwood rules are that the kettle is always on to welcome organists, that saucers must always be used but tea may only be put on the left rather than the right so that in the case of any liquid accident no damage happens to electric cables!

  • Hi again, I think you should use a better means of recording this. First it is only mono and second the recording volume is obviously automatic and you can hear it dip every time the keys are pressed.

  • @goodchappy Yes - absolutely - search "Hugh Potton Reubke" and "Latrobian whirl" for proper recordings of this instrument which you might enjoy.

  • what organ is this and where is it?

  • @tman8077 Hi! It's an amalgam of different technologiues based upon the instrument that served Londonderry Cathedral for a dozen years. It's now at Hammerwood Park east Grinstead in Sussex and there's a brilliant recital coming up on 7th November 2010 - ring 01342 850594 if you'd like to reserve seats or come and play it at any other time
