  • should'nt there be a drip edge installed?

  • @littlemacs There SHOULD be a drip edge, I never laid a chimney with a "dead end," as I call it, but that was not why I was called. Water infiltration , mostly due to ice-pack, was the problem, so I re-crowned it. Crowns start at $325. To build a drip edge would have cost $1,450 extra. I can recommend all I want, but the client has to accept my proposal.

  • You are a garbage tuckpointer and all your video's and work suck!!! You should have staid in the union, you might have learned a little something about quality and cleanliness, other than some scab boot job!!! Yea good thing most of your work is on roofs, so your customers don't have see the garbage they pay for!!!! Keep on doing crap work, that just means more side jobs for me!!!

  • There's a new community called "Treesdale" locally. New homes START at $650,000, yet after 3 years they are taking on water cause the crowns failed.

I am not judgemental, I am appreciative. I am the only guy around that will take on these jobs. Someday perhaps you will have a successful enough business to put vids up. Until then, should'nt you be getting ready for work?

  • what a sloppy mess

  • To the untrained eye. You have to look beyond the present. Those brick faces cleaned off with water. You see, a completely saturated brick (100% moisture content) cannot absorb more. That's why you saturate a chimney before you acidwash, so the brick don't absorb the acid. I hope this makes you less stupid;) TCW

  • scam job

  • not to be a dick. but you mentioned scab work. and then gloat about more side work for me.

if you are union then you, sir are the scab. when you take that work

  • Thank you! And you are absolutely right, ditch block, veneer and tuckpointing are three seperate animals. Entire buildings are tuckpointed for historic restoration and your average mudslinger is useless tucking. You gotta make that hawk and tucker SING! LOL! I have a sweep and a top mount damper to do on 3/4 and 3/5. Imagine, flushing out a flue in this crap:( I hose the roof to enable traversing safely. Thanks for the post, and I welcome ANYONE to upload a vid and share something
