Mariah was with Virgin with the Glitter album. This sing-song back and forth was created by her and then stolen by tommy and given to j.lo. Irv Gotti admitted to helping tommy swipe MC's music and Ja claimed he felt pressured by tommy to recreate this song with j.lo's 'i'm real' track with a slower tempo and urban beat - that's how the 'i'm real remix' was created.

mariah carey was pissed at her record label coz she new the next craze was murder inc, and coz she divorced tommy motlla he promoted j.lo's album a lot more and promoted j.los im real instead of pushing for marah carey promotion and this as a single release.
