I got one a while back in Vancouver. I thought it was hilarious how on the summons I received after I didn't pay it, it said "I command you in her Majesty's name to appear before us." Too funny.

I guess if I ever go back to Vancouver,  and am pulled over, I'll be arrested by the Queen's royal guard and flogged in the village square. :-)

@SilverstoneZED it really is a joke. They enforce that so hard but yesterday someone got house arrest for 20 lbs of coke and 100s of pills of ecstasy. Its like the government would rather enforce the petty shit because its easier to deal with and prove. A SHAME AND FARCE to the citizens of Vancouver.

We have to start a facebook campaign with regards to the parking irregularities and unfair practices. Vancouver should never contend for the most livable vote, with such atrocious parking bylaws, scarcity of parking, Sunday meters. Unheard of even in San Francisco. Vancouver Parking Enforcement is a shame on Vancouver residents.

@IntheOT I know it sucks, but it's just part of the"Government" system. Some people have clout in the system, they're the ones who can get away with things like that. They're also the ones, who probably don't have to pay parking fines, even when they let the parking meter expire, or illegally park?

@Chitown2701 ahhh ok well thanks for the compliment. yes I feel very strong about how absurd it is. I understand the city needs to generate money, but that doesnt mean they should be allowed a free pass to do what they want.

@IntheOT It was a compliment, not an insult. It's a 70s movie, about a guy who was a TV commentator. And he didn't like the irionies of things like the parking by the fire hydrant, when giving tickets, that you spoke of. You're kind of young to know of the movie, but your mom or dad might remember it. BTW It's basically just as bad here for parking tickets, it's a great source of revenue for them. And they park anywhere they want, when writing the tickets, just like in Vancouver.
