@dontcaretoknowyou And when the South, Texas and California tried to break off from the USA we did the same as the British and used the military to stop them, even though they thought the USA was trampling their rights. It works both ways. Its now illegal for any States to break away from the USA now without a majority of the country voting for it. People really need to study both sides instead of going along with one-sided patriotic movies.

@dontcaretoknowyou Actually, most of it was about not wanting to pay with the French Indian War that Colonists started by trying to colonize previously claimed territory belonging to France and Natives anyway. We didn't feel like we should have to pay for the soldiers stationed to guard us. A lot of the things like the Boston Massacre etc were just messed up accounts of what happened to rile up people against the crown. We were given some representation directly before the war broke out.
