these cars are in NZ and called 'Star touring cars' i have one and have a couple videos of some racing in NZ at Pukekohe.

Cool video mate i am pretty sure i saw this race on SBS a few weeks ago on Speedweek. It was a good race to watch. Great video!

This Aussie car racing is great.
I think the format is on the right track, small cars with mc engines, sometimes 3 or 4 wide through the corners, way cheaper than the v8s to run, more accessable to regular people who might actually be able to afford to race, lots of passing and crazy action to entertain with big fields of competitors.
How popular is this racing in Oz?
I don't see any coverage on NZ tv anymore dammit.

Yeah, gotta love Aussie Racing cars, one of my favorite categories in Oz for sure.
It is probably one of the most popular categories in Australia, everyone loves it because of how close the racing is. Not only that, they drive the things sideways! :D
