I agree with TLDR there has to be a balance, between study/hard work and creativity, both extremes are bad, but if you get in the middle you're fine.
Without creativity there wouldn't be new technology
Without hard work/knowledge we would be able to build the technology

@TheEpiksuju I agree! You're pretty awesome hehe My friends are crazy too but kind of boring sometimes 'cause I'm one of those really spontaneous people that when I think of something I MUST do it and they just never seem to be bothered to go along with my plans xD We should talk more like on other websites or something (:
The fact is that Korea's education system is slowly changing. Also their educational system is why they were so successful over the last 10years. Their economy is growing well and have major companies like Samsung that is dominating. While here in USA, we seem to be headed the wrong path. Kids are getting stupider and just look at our economy. Also we seem to be moving farther from a democracy system while Korea is moving toward it. Just look at our corrupt political system of lobbying and SOPA.

Overheard some conversations between mothers, I thought some of them are ridiculous! They would complain about their children not studying afterschool, not studying in the weekends, watching TV for 2 hours (like it's somekind of big deal!!!), going out with friends. and 'studying' here means reading the academic materials, not something else like maybe practising piano, learnin a breakdance move or somehting. It seems like they want their children to be studying all the time with no social life!
