When I open my imac it doesn't show the login screen, it instead shows the screen that shows when you wake the computer up from sleep, but my macbook shows the login screen. Is there any way to make my iMac open to show the login screen?

ok one more question can changing the logo screw up your mac because last time i messed with core services it fucked up my whole mac now i did the desktop thing but the logo worries me have you ever had your computer crash load up like a diffrent way because i really dont wanna have my computer crash again and reinstall mac osx please help

yeah i have snow leopard too. the apple logo in snow leopard is located in Macintosh HD > System > Library > CoreServices > SecurityAgentPlugins > Loginwindow.bundle (show package contents ) > contents > resources
will this work in tiger

I have not worked that much with Tiger in customizing the appearance. However, the systems folder organization is very similar and the folders are titled the same. This should work then with Tiger. Just look for the same packages and folder on your computer. And following the same process, it should be successful. Just remember to backup your files and remember your exact modifications so you can restore back to the original state if you don't like the change.
