NOTE: This video was made for educational purposes ONLY. I am not guilty if something happens. Nothing will happen if you follow the guide right!

Some of the things do work on xp also. But some stuff is only vista features.

Here's what I told you in the video:

UAC disabling:
open control panel then search "UAC" in the search window. Then disable it.

Up-to-date checking:
Open up start menu and search "update" in the update window and it should come up windows update. Click on it and it tells you if you need to install any new updates.

Checking update statuses:
Open up windows update again and click update history. look for updates that didnt sucsess. if they didnt sucsess it do say something else instead of "sucsess". A normal problem is Vista service pack 1 (SP1) that often dont work from beginning. look is something with sp1 or service pack 1 or service pack say sucsess. If it dont say sucsess the downloads are here:

to get out witch system you got go to computer then go to system properties and it should say 64 or 32 bit.

On the graphics part (Performance options) go to computer then system properties the advanced system settings. then click on "settings" under performance and put on adjust for best performance. after that choice these ones to make your vista look cool still:
Enable desktop composition
Show preview of filters and folders
Show thumbnails instead of icons
smooth edges of screen fonts
use a background image for each folder type
use vistual style on all windows and buttons
: I recommend you to use those ;) !

Sidepanel:
Watch down at the bottom of the screen where you see what the clock is like "16:22". look around those icons for "sidepanel" when you see it right click on it and disable that it starts up when your computer starts up. then click ok. now rightclick on the sidepanel icon again and click "exit". This will make your computers startup performance better :] !

More tutorials are comming very soon :D! watch the ones I made so far if you got any problems and do please subscride if you think the videos are good. Do also please rate and comment.

  • I don't know if disabeling UAC if safe for your computer. If you do download AVG safe download 100% safe download all computer are suppoeded to have it "THIS IS A TIP"

  • @97448goducks

Just because you got an antivirus/firewall that dosen't mean your computer can't be harmed. New viruses can get into computers, and if they get in behind your OS your software can't reach it.

  • My Windows Vista runs very well. . I am running it on a Compaq Presario SR5113WM Desktop Pc with 2.5 GB of Ram, Nvidia GeForce 6150 Video Card nforce 430. and a Athlon 64x2 Dual Core processor running at 1.9GHZ with a 150 GB harddrive. all this came with mine the only thing I upgraded is the RAM. It out peforms my mom's computer, Emachines Slimline series, with a 2.8GHZ processor and 2GB RAM with Windows 7 Home Premium. And the video and audio chipset are the same out of the two machines.
