Way to go, sweetie... would love to see your locks, and their length... Concerning oiling your hair, it is relative... personally I use oil as little as possible, since my head remains moist naturally... I mostly oil right after a wash and retightening, [Mango & Lime Sproil Spray Oil], to protect against breakage and refreshing my scalp... I tend to not listen to the beauty-shop personnel, since their products tend to cost too much, and are typically excessive... Hopeful that... Cheers...

...bytheway, if you blow-dry your hair, after a wash and retightening, it should not smell... the young woman must have not dried her hair properly... people tend to forget that locks are still hair, requiring the same maintenance of unlocked hair...

Congrats on your locs!!! What a fun journey this is. Just stay on Youtube, ask lots of questions, and live your life. Your locs will be mature in no time. Enjoy every step of the way!!

Please go very light on the oils to avoid clogging pores. When your scalp is itchy, I actually recommend washing your baby locs using a mesh cap. Then after washing, use the coconut oil to seal in moisture. I have a bunch of videos on washing and conditioning. If the youtube search gives you trouble, I have them organized by topic on my website. The link is on my channel (can't post links here)
