MY point is that people dislike change, and pleasing them is impossible. They will always find something to bitch about.

I myself think Win8 is a huge improvement over 7 technologically; I'm really impressed. But taking aesthetics, tradition, and common sense into the equation, they made a huge mistake putting an OS meant for touch tablets on a PC, this is why windows 8 has a bad rep.

People dislike Windows 8 because it is change. Windows 8 is only aesthetically different from Windows 7, but no one is complaining about 7.

The average person is technologically ignorant, they judge tech based on whether the colors match their preferences or not, not software or kernel architecture.

With consumers, the success of a product is really a roll of the dice. Microsoft should just make a beautiful OS with Scratch (google it if udk), that may return better profits.

When did I say it is bad? I simply said that people do not like it because it is not good. That is not myself saying it is bad, that is me saying people dislike it because it is not good. You can go ahead and look up the reviews of it, people dislike it for that very reason. That is not my opinion, that is the opinion of myself included with many other people. I dislike it because it is bad, but my argument is not based on that.

If you were a programmer, you wouldn't have used meaningless exaggerations - especially in something that you are currently implying you are passionate about. If you truly did care about the topic, you would have used a much more understandable and proper number. You are doing exactly that right now. You are saying that Windows 8 is bad, when that is entirely subjective. You are saying it as if it is a fact that Windows 8 is badly designed.

I, on the other hand, used existing accounts from actual users of Windows 8, and did not pass it off as a fact like you did.

You can't define "bad" using a physical medium, therefore it is subjective. The fact that you fall on the ground when you jump can be physically seen, observed, and studied. It is objective.

99% was an exaggeration, duh. And don't act like you know more about linux than I do as a programmer and avid user. You think you know more than me? Then explain the filesystem of linux. What is the /etc directory for? What about /usr/bin? What about /usr/lib64? /dev? Explain how the GUI works in detail.

If you can't comprehend that stuff, then you have no right to insult my intelligence and act like you know more with that passive agressive bullshit. What a cop out.
