A website like Sumo Paint (sumopaint . com/app) it's a application period, it's just on the web making it a web app. So no need to install anything.

@thisweekinlinux ah, okay. I know that Chromium OS has stronger support with video and offers Java support vs. Chrome OS which still lacks a lot of basic file formats. Hopefully soon they will update Chrome OS to support more formats that are commonly used.

I think Jolicloud is a lot better but I think when they finish this one, it might be pretty awesome, especially for those who are fans of the Google Chrome like myself.

When i ran a vanilla build on vbox on my hp netbook (with ubuntu on it) it looked like a glorified browser to me :p
Other than the open-source difference; what is the difference between Chrome OS and Chromium OS? I don't see much difference except for some UI changes and such.

@brannimikal mainly branding and some more proprietary components, I believe.

So no offline apps? I would love to see some light weigh apps for this, like OpenOffice Writer and such. Isn't this thing based off Ubuntu, so it should run ubuntu apps?

@ZetaSimsoy not as far as I can tell. it's based off the Ubuntu kernel, but I don't believe it has the Ubuntu userland (so, all the normal apps).
I've got the Cr-48, and I ended up just installing ubuntu on top of it so I could have actual apps.
