Minnesota Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton signed an alternative teacher licensure bill into law (March 7). The law allows qualified individuals to gain a teaching license through nontraditional teacher preparation. Minnesota House education committee Chairman Pat Garofalo, R-Farmington, Dayton Education Commissioner Brenda Cassellius, and the governor speak.
