NOTE: Please understand I am in not a professional. I am just someone who is sharing my method of restoring wigs back to the way it was before.

Part 2 of the Wig Restoring Tutorial!! This will show you how to use the two products mentioned in Part 1 in order to detangle a wig and prevent anymore tangles.
Please excuse the raspy voice. I was starting to get a little sick. XD;

  • what if your wig is so tangled that you can't split it in the first place? xD;;;

  • @Boomicorn Lots of the detangling spray and patience. XD; Depending on how badly it is tangled, you may lose quite a bit of hair but as long as you are slow and patient it is possible to split up. However, if it is clearly impossible, you may have to cut right in the middle of the knot once.

  • what kind of spray do you use? can you show me a link?

  • @TenshixXxNeko Equate Detangling spray. You can see the materials better in the Part 1 of the tutorial. You can use any kind of detangling spray, actually.

  • i heard using a brush just messes it up more and to just use your hands to brush through it.

  • @takerumayu It depends on the kind of brush you are using. I actually found a better brush to use and a different method, which I hope to make a video for and update this, but depending on the brush, not really. Though when first using the wig, it's best to avoid using the brush and the first tangles you see, use your hands. ^^ It's what I do most of the time, mainly cause I don't have a brush on hand.

  • could VO5 work instead of the oil spray? Because The VO5 is concentrated oil and i'm on a tight budget for wigs and already have detangler and VO5

  • @ShiroSenpai Before the con, put it on and spray the oil sheen spray on it. It should help protect your wig from becoming a giant purple cotton ball.

  • @ZZBadApplezz Straightening can probably take care of the curls and as for preventing knots, long wigs are going to knot either way. But a detangling spray or a spray in conditioner can help with that, as well as make it easier to brush out any potential knots using just your fingers or a comb.

  • I have a gakupo wig, and it was a bit messy after a convention.

    My friend wanted to brush it and I showed her, and she started brushing it while I was sewing.

    Now its 4834 times worse then what a wig should be. Its nothing but a clump of hair in a GIANT knot

    I have half of it fixed after watching this. Though after I have it done, is there a way to prevent it from getting tangled during conventions at all?

  • @reistar17

    thanks. im getting my first wig-miku yay!!- and i dont want to mess it up before august. i look forward to the new video ^u^
