Do some research before running off at the mouth. Read 'Shimewaza" by Kashiwazaki, Judo Masterclass Series. Specifically page 72. The Triangle choke and its variations were created by the Kosen players as a means to defeat the turtle position, PERIOD!!

What old Samurai in their right mind would put their groin in biting distance? Completely impractical on the battefield. As far as Kano goes, u are out of your mind and VASTLY underrating his importance to modern arts.

@KatameDo The Gracie didn't make ay new techniques, i admit that. why?? because it will just wasting of times, why they have to make a new techniques while they technically have a knowledge about Judo. The Gracie didn't make a new technique, but they make a different way of fighting style.

@KatameDo Judoka create triangle choke?? haha ur kidding right? triangle chock are invented by old Samurai people, its one of technique in Japanese Jiu Jitsu. are u even realize that Jigoro Kano also just Mixing/ gathering all the techniques from various Jujutsu school? Mr Kano didn't create any new technique. he just collect all the throwing, pinching, and submission techniques of jujutsu and remove all the striking techniques, and that become Judo as u know today.

@Ligierthegreensun we still train 50% /50% standing and ground at the judo school where i trian. but i do have great respect for BJJ since it is an effective art and focuses on laying on bottom aswell alot which is a position we dont like ot be in i think you should learn / study both arts to get true judo back that was invented by kano

Whatever!! You're just like Joe Rogan. Watch any UFC where a triangle choke is applied. "great BJJ there" Judo newaza specialists like Sensei Oda and those he instructed under Kosen Judo rules in the early 1900's took Newaza to a whole new level. Judoka created the triangle choke and it's variations. Granted Sport Judo is designed for quick ippons for victory which you get with big throws. However, don't think for a second that the BJJ guys created much of anything with the exception of some se

@KatameDo Get over the fact that BJJ surpassed judo in newaza. BJJ practitioners took what Maeda taught them and ran with it in newaza. To say that it's nothing more than judo newaza is silly at best. It's like if you had a martial art based on punching and kicking and one school focused almost entirely on punching, and the other school focused almost entirely on kicking, and you saying that the kicking is nothing more than a style of punching. Modern judo is almost all nage-waza.
