  • TLE = Tight Low End a much tighter more compressed low end..less "flab" and less "spooge" on the dynamics.

  • @fzappa007 Certainly less flab and spooge but not really compressed. At least it doesn't feel compressed and from my conversations with Rob the builder, its not a matter of compression on the TLE. But I'll not disagree with your ears if thats what you hear. Thanks for listening.

  • hi Tim, Danny Mangold here..this is so weird !! I was looking for an Ethos for myself and BANG !!..there you are with one on youtube. It sounds great !! does it have the glassy Robben Ford tone to it?

  • Hey Danny, How are you doing? I love this pedal very much and you can get plenty of tonal variety from it. It's very flexible. Hope you get yours soon (get on the list it takes a while). Hey lets hang out sometime I miss you.

  • Hey Tim. Thanks for the demo. Just curious, does the feel when the pedal is engaged different to say when disengaged? That's because I watched your demo of the Zendrive. Whenever the Zendrive was engaged when I tested it out, the feel changed dramatically IME, something that I'm not too fond off. I was just wondering if the same feel applies to the Ethos. I've never played a Dumble ever in my life, so I'm wondering if the feel factor that I'd experienced was something common in Dumbles...

  • Were you using the ethos overdrive pedal straight into the front of the amp?? Or was it into the effects return to bypass the amps preamp. Not sure if blues junior has effects loop, but anyhow, do you have experience with putting the ethos into the front "and" into an amps effects return so the ethos is the only tone making part of the tone. What did you find?

  • FANTASTIC comparison demo. I need one of these great pedals.

  • Thanks for the demo! Fine playing, by the way!

I've been wondering if I should order one of those Ethos pedals OR an 'Air Brake' for my Dr.Z amp....

But I really like the idea of being able to get the right tone direct to the board.

Then again - I hear there's a rather long delivery time on the Ethos...(and I live in Europe).

  • Here's the only problem: both TLE and Classic modes sound great! :-) I just got on the waiting list for one of these pedals, and I ordered mine with the TLE/Classic toggle for this very reason. SOOOO much tone, and what versatility! I can think of a lot of uses for both these tonal colors. Great demo, BTW.

  • What is the wait time for one of these?

  • @telebasher I must agree...I believe compressed was the wrong word to describe the TLE function...To my ears "tight" and "compressed" sometimes go hand and hand..BTW I just had a breakdown with my Ethos..The TLE switch just broke somehow inside the switch itself..causing the "overdrive channel" to not engage, i have spoken w/Rob and they will fix it...Its just a drag to be without it for ANY length of time...ouch!!
