How thrilling it has been for me to get a sneak peak of our choir preparing for the upcoming Christmas Musical, Down from His Glory. I have listened to their glorious singing, and my spirit has been stirred once again to preach the great theme of our Lord's descent to earth to save His people from their sin. Throughout the month of December, I will preach a sermon series also entitled, Down from His Glory . The series will begin today by preaching the subject, The Incredible Incarnation of the Immutable I Am.
As we study our Lord's Incarnation, we will discover the amazing truths of the God who joined Himself to humanity-- the Infinite One becoming finite, the Eternal One entering time, the Invisible One becoming visible and the Creator entering His creation. The sermon will visit these glorious thoughts in two distinct points, The Miracle of the Incarnation and The Manifestation of the Incarnation. The text will be from John chapter one and verse fourteen which speaks to the Son of God's incarnation with great clarity. In the first point, we will see the Who, What and Where of the incarnation. In the second point, we will discover a glory within the incarnation of Unprecedented Clarity, Unparalleled Character and Unexplainable Compassion. The wonder of wonders is that God would come as man to man and that He would become what we are so that we could become what He is. Oh blessed day when Immanuel was born, and God was with man as man!
