Another day at work part 1 ford flywheel

Just put a clutch in this 2004 Ford F150 V6, and after about the 5th time we started it, the flywheel ring gear started slipping around the flywheel. I temporarily repaired it by welding the gear to the flywheel. Hopefully, it will hold until we can get it in the shop and replace the flywheel. i hope u can give me some sort of advice on one problem i have with my truck it is a 97 ford f150 it goes in reverse not foward does anyone know what is is and muck thanks

@rhurley6 If its an automatic it could be a number of things like a shift solenoid, tcm or the tranny may be shot. Really hard to say without looking at it.

Hehe, I just hope it holds for awhile. I cannot describe how pissed off I was when I figured out what happened. I spent 2 hours in a restaurant parking lot messing with the starter. We eventually just push started it and got it back to the shop. Then I figured out it was the flywheel.
