My Mommy always had a keyboard around because she used to play. She watched me be able to figure out "key" and "melodies" for years, but there was always one reason or another that she could never sit down with me and focus on that. In May of 2010 I asked her again if she would teach me to play like she used to. When she saw me be able to figure out "chords" like I had been doing on the guitar, she decided she wasn't just going to teach me piano "songs", but how to build "chords". About 1 month later, she had taught me how to build majors, minors, diminished, 5th's and any other thing on this wall chart my Daddy had bought my older sister's years before. The next month we prepared to move from Monterey to L.A. county and all lessons stopped as our families focus switched. I went back to singing exclusively and my guitars and piano quickly got put away and then went into storage on September 7, 2010. I moved away and my piano stayed up there until June 5, 2011. My Daddy set up the piano in the living room to encourage Mommy to play. I had forgot EVERYTHING I had learned. Mommy got a text that said I could be in this show if I played an instrument. Assuming I'd play guitar Mommy started trying to figure out song choices that fit me and the guitar, but I told her I wanted to play piano. At first, she wasn't sure, but we really trust each other and she knows I LOVE Adele, so she looked up how to play it and just like singing or guitar ONLY taught me the hard way. After 1 week I played for my Daddy and he wasn't too sure. On the evening of the 26th we counted my mistakes and thought, "It's good enough for an audition and then i'll have time before the show!" The next morning, June 27, 2011, we crossed our fingers, headed South to Hollywood and held our breath as we pulled in the parking lot to play the first time in public outside of my home and here's that performance...

For those of you who don't know me I'm an 11 year old singer/musician/actress who LOVES music. I sing all day long :) I play piano and guitar but I mostly sing... I am also in a band with my sister The Sledge Grits Band and I perform with just my oldest sister as "Tropicsensation".

I will be at the Catalina Club in July for the Teena Marie Tribute concert!! Such an honor! Thank you guys for all of your support!

Brilliant modulating @ ~0:50...dynamics...phrasing--c­heck, double check. You're all set to go...big. Your voice tends toward shrillness in some of your other (more recent) material so that issue wants attn. imo. Why did you laugh? Brain freeze, go blank for a moment?
