http://www.DadLabs.com - In this episode of Quality Time, Daddy Clay visits with University of Texas professor Dr. Nancy Hazen. She is one of the authors of a study titled "The Supermom Trap: Do Involved Dads Erode Mom's Self-Competence?", which examined couples expecting their first baby. Does an involved dad equal a happier marriage for mom? Do moms feel like they should be the primary caregiver in a family or is 50/50 parenting the new trend? Do fathers need to purposely be less involved to make mothers feel better? Is being a supermom really necessary? Check out this video for answers to these questions and more. DadLabs Ep. 625 is brought to you by BabyBjorn. Distributed by Tubemogul.

  • Oh please, when I first saw the Supermom Trap I thought this would be about women getting pressured into "doing it all", not this crap. Women being the trapped ones, not the men. Pfft. Supermom Crap is what this is.

You Dads need to be concerned about providing so the Mom CAN stay home, not some silly new age techniques on like this.

    "Should I do Less? Derrr...."

  • @lynnybradford I don't think there's anything "new age" about women working. It's the norm, now. More than 50% or married households feature 2 careers. We're just trying to understand the reality of the real world we live in.

  • @DadLabs , Yeah, pardon me for busting bee's that day, I just have a problem living in a society where a parent can't stay home with the kids anymore in general, not DadLabs in particular, great channel, glad it's on here.

  • @lynnybradford Thanks for being here and commenting as well. We like a lively conversation. I agree that the families are stronger when parents can *choose* whether or not to have a career. When economic conditions *force* both parents to work, problems will arise.
