A collage of the folk songs "Silver Dagger" and "Bedlam Boys" - both of which are thought by some ethnomusicologists to originate in London, (though Silver Dagger is also argued to be american in origina) - re-set in the time of the industrial revolution. Historical footage licenced courtesy of Critical Past.
I recognised Bedlam Boys as soon as you started playing this song at the gig last night, though I haven't heard the folk song for many, many years. Great interpretation! I'll share this video as much as I can.

Wow...in Manchester where I was born they used to kidnap children off the streets to work in the Cotton Mills. Five year olds used to work in Coal Mines. Not an easy time for a child one way or the other. Beautifully sung a start contrast to the dark and disturbing images of outr Industrial Age.
